Course Overview
Welcome to USACO Bronze Accelerator – Advanced Algorithms (Part 2 / Semester 2).
This course is the second semester of our year-long USACO Bronze Accelerator program. Part 1 and Part 2 together form one complete curriculum, providing students with a structured path from foundational concepts to advanced USACO Bronze problem-solving.
For convenience and flexibility, the program is offered in two semesters. The curriculum below represents the complete USACO Bronze Accelerator syllabus, with the foundational topics introduced in Part 1 and the more advanced algorithms and contest strategies covered in Part 2.
Complete Curriculum
Throughout the full program, students will learn:
- Simulation – Modeling and simulating real-world scenarios step by step
- Search Algorithms – Brute force, exhaustive search, and introductory binary search
- Recursion – Solving problems using recursive thinking
- Sorting – Built-in sorting, custom comparators, and practical applications
- Graph Basics – Graph representation and fundamental graph traversal
- Greedy Algorithms – Making locally optimal decisions to solve problems efficiently
- Geometry – Coordinates, grids, distance calculations, and geometric reasoning
- Set & Map – Efficient data storage and lookup using STL containers
- Ad Hoc Problems – Logical reasoning and pattern recognition
- File I/O – Reading from and writing to files using the USACO format
- Debugging & Edge Cases – Finding and fixing logical, runtime, and corner-case errors
Semester Breakdown
Part 1 (Semester 1): Core programming techniques and foundational USACO Bronze algorithms.
Part 2 (Semester 2): Advanced USACO Bronze algorithms, more challenging problem-solving techniques, and intensive contest practice.

Prerequisites
Students should be familiar with basic C++/Java/Python programming, including variables, loops, arrays, and functions. Prior programming experience is recommended.

Outcome
